Birthday at the Beach

While we were at the beach we celebrated Mamma's birthday. Although it was a week early, we planned this surprise to be celebrated when everyone was together. J. brought the ingredients to make the cake and we supplied the balloons and candles. We didn't know exactly how we were going to pull it off but on the day we set for the celebration Mamma & M. "just so happened" to take a nap during the afternoon. The nap time was well used as we prepared for the birthday party. Just as they awoke we finished hiding the huge balloons and the yummy smelling cake (which was a little difficult since the smell was filling the bedrooms). If Mamma ever caught on she didn't tell. But enough are the pictures:
There were only a few tears over popped balloons!

The poem recited here is a birthday ritual in the Vernon Family.
